FORMAL GOWNS
Formal Gowns can vary from the very simple, understated and elegant dress or suit in a beautiful Dupion Silk, to an extravagant ball gown in Satin and tulle! So the main key here with any special occasion Gown is to select some designs that fit two main criteria.
The main criteria is always a design that will flatter your figure. Always. The second is to select colours and fabrics that are suitable to the design, occasion and the venue.
How do you know what to wear when you can't find anything in the stores that you love? Heather's advice is always to think about a design that you felt amazing in. What was it about it you loved? Was it the colours, the comfort, the corseting, or the neckline? Think back about what you love most, and there your inspiration starts....And of course, the possibilities are unlimited! So, have a look online and in magazines, try on all sorts of designs, forgetting the colour, but more the shape, and together we can design and make an outfit perfect for you. In terms of fabrics, there are some wonderful Stores for you to visit and select some samples. The samples you select, tell Heather a lot about the type of design/fall/flow that you like, and can therefore help design an outfit you will love. Naturally it is hard to quote until a basic design idea is selected, and so for your convenience you can make a totally obligation free appointment at Heather's Studio to discuss in more detail. But generally, dresses will start from $500, jackets $350, or full ball Gowns perhaps at $1500 (all plus fabric). It really does depend on the fabrics, workmanship and the complexity of the design you have selected. However, all are possible, it is simply up to you! All Gowns are made to your specific measurements - so custom made for you.
