BRIDESMAIDS GOWNS
Shopping & searching for Bridesmaids Gowns,
can be very challenging & frustrating! You may have a design in
your mind but can you find it! Most often, you & your
Bridesmaids will all go shopping, hoping to find gowns off the
rack, or search endlessly online for designs you like - One that
suits all of your Bridesmaids figures, in the fabric & colour
you want, the perfect design & stock availability! . It is at
this point that you realise it is not that simple!
The solutionconsider having them custom made.
As a Designer, with extensive experience (some 26 years, and
over 4,000 dresses) allow Heather to help you solve these
problems in designing your Gowns with you. The key is to dress
the body first ie if it fits perfectly & flatters the body,
then you can adapt the colour & fashion trends to the shape that
suits best; hence making it fashionable, but also suitable to
various sizes, & if the girls are paying for their own Gowns,
the opportunity to wear them again. Custom made is where all
patterns are made to the girls individual measurements, so
sizing & fit problems are a non-issue as you have your own
personal fittings.
Whether you have a specific design in mind, or need some advise
to refine an idea, custom made means that even if they have
different shapes, bust size, heights etc, they will ALL look
great with careful design selection as the dress is made
specifically for them.
Your options? Dresses are really popular, and there are
certain designs that look great on all body shapes, with fabric
choice being critical as well, so Heather can help you with
this. This is best done at you initial, completely obligation
free appointment alone with you, as there is no way Heather
wishes to embarrass any of the girls by discussing their
flaws, for want of a much better word. A design may then be
suggested for you to share with your Bridesmaids & discuss. If
your Bridal Party has a wide range in sizes between the girls,
or differing bust sizes, then a great way to go is to have all
the same skirt, but different tops. This way they can be
individual, yet linked by the same colour, and able to be worn
later too. It is also not uncommon to have one pregnant, one
O/seas and one local Bridesmaid! With careful planning, this
situation can be accommodated, and would be discussed at our
initial, completely obligation free consultation. So dont
despair!
Please contact me if you would like some help with design ideas
based on your girls requirements. I will only need to see them
3 times in all. The first is to measure & refine the design, 1-2
fittings follow, and then arrangements are made to pick them up.
Payments are usually spread over 3 appointments: at their
initial measure, the 1st, & then 2nd fittings. They are not
required to attend the collection of the Gowns unless they wish
to, as their final fitting is usually only 2-3 weeks from the
Wedding for a perfect fit. My hours for fittings are weekdays
till 6pm and most Saturdays, all by appointment. Saturdays are
generally most popular and a good time to also catch up on other
aspects for your Wedding, such as shoes, hairstyles etc. I do
get quite heavily booked however, so planning is essential.
Custom made Bridesmaids dresses average $360 - $395 per dress, plus
fabric, which varies from $80 for a fully lined knee length
Satin dress, to $125 for a full length, fully lined Gown in Dupion Silk. You are free to supply your own fabrics, or I have
some great selections available to you.
Payments accepted are: Cash, Cheque, Internet transfer and
Eftpos for Visa, Mastercard, and Debit Card from your account,
for your convenience.
