Whilst I can make your bridesmaids dresses, to have one custom made from the girls measurements, prices are approximately $500 - $575 (pending design) plus fabric (approx. $75-125), and if you have multiple girls, this may be a little more than the budget allows, so many girls opt to buy their Gowns from the store, or online, and have them altered.

The advantage of pre purchasing your Gowns for either the Bridesmaids in a Bridal Party, Mothers of the Bride or Groom, or simply as a Formal Gown for a special occasion, is that you have the Gowns, like the colour and essential fit and design, but that they may need some alterations to either simply refit to your body shape, or alter the lengths for a more flattering line.

These alterations, even minor ones, can totally transform the design and look, making your Gown now feel... custom made for you! Most often they include some of the following:

• Hem length alteration, making them all ‘look’ the same in your group photo.
• Shoulder strap adjustment, if the neckline is too plunging, or straps just too loose.
• Bust shape adjustment to alter ‘gaping’
• Sway back alteration, so it sits smoothly on the bottom
• Reshaping the skirt – either being a little too tight or loose, so the girls all look great.

Most dress alterations require the hem being shortened, (or straightened!), and some bodice refinement so the dresses fit really well, and this quote would generally be about $100, depending of course on the work required. If it is just the hem, depending on the number of layers, this will be approx. $35-50. If the dress more or less needs pulling apart and refitting, it may be up to $150ish.

Naturally I will give you a fixed quote when I first see the dresses on the girls, so you are not up for any other additional costs or surprises thereafter.

*** Please note: It is essential to plan for these fittings - in terms of getting dates for all the girls to attend, my previous workload committments, and to ensure my availability for their fittings relative to your Wedding date. So please call/email ideally 3 months in advance to book an initial consultation date for me to see the girls in their dresses(even if they have not arrived if coming from overseas as yet), to assess their needs. A further fitting date will also be made much closer to the wedding (2-3 weeks) to ensure the dresses fit as perfectly as possible. The Gowns will be ready for collection the week prior to your Wedding.
