BRIDAL REDESIGN
There is a wonderful new swing in Bridal that allows you to have the creative flair of creating a totally "new" Gown from a combination of Gowns or ideas, and producing just the perfect design that you see in your mind. Usually this comes from finding a little gem somewhere.... but bringing new life to it! It involves more than an "alteration" (to simply reshape to your figure), but rather to "Redesign" it, into something unique and personal to you....
There seems to be two main thoughts, the first seeing a gown that you basically like, but want to bring totally to life with your own design ideas, but you love the fact that you already have the basis for the Gown to try on, and then hunt for ways to transform it into an "original".
Many of these Gowns are bought online, sight unseen, and when they arrive, they are ok, but you want to do something more with the design. This may, for example, be keeping the bodice, but putting on a whole new skirt, replacing what was a simple A line skirt, with a more fitted fishtale, with multiple organza layers to totally transform the design, and give a European catwalk flavour, without the Designer price tag! Or you may love the skirt, but dont want the massive train, and would like to make sleeves/wrap/shrug/straps etc, from the fabric we cut from the train. Perhaps you would simply like some smaller changes, but with the addition of more complex beading? The options are endless, and sometimes, you simply cant quite work out what can be/needs to be done to make it just perfect. A skilled and experienced eye, will do all that for you, an area Heather just loves....
The other main reason for redesigning an existing Gown, is that it may be a beautiful Vintage gown you have inherited or bought.
This swing is increasing and wonderful! From 1920 originals (making new under dresses, and miraculously enlarging/remaking the original from the tiny bodies of the women in this era) to wearing your grandmothers 1950's Gown, or your mothers dress from the 70's, all are possible and wonderful, and there is nothing more exciting and sentimental to the previous owner and new wearer, than seeing this gorgeous Gown loved once more. Inevitably, it will need reshaping, the fabric may be discoloured, and new linings and zippers replaced due to the passage of time (not wanting untimely tearing on the day!) to restore it to its former glory, or perhaps to keep the essential design, but add a modern twist.... Experience is the key, and Heather is in her element (with 27 years of experience behind her) to love and care for these beautiful Gowns.
So, the posibilities are endless! Quotes are obviously based on the amount of work required to transform and redesign Gowns. But they will generally fall somewhere between $500 and $1500, all depending on what you would like done. So please take advantage of Heather complimentary obligation free appointment to chat at her Studio, and to view some photographs of transformations she has already created for your confidence and trust. Payments are generally spread over your visits together (3-4), and for your convenience, has Eftpos, for visa, Mastercard and debit card, as well as accepting cash or Internet transfers.
***Please note: As I have a really large client base, it is important to give me as much notice as possible before your wedding day. This does not mean we need to do your actual fittings months in advance, but I need to book your time spot as my diary fills really quickly. So ideally, please call/email as soon as possible to ensure my availability, (even if your Gown has not arrived if coming in from overseas as yet) and we will book your totally obligation free appointment, then your fitting dates (1-2) starting from about 6-8 weeks before your Wedding, with your final one approx. 2-3 weeks before, pending availability and circumstance (weight loss etc). These will all be booked well in advance, to ensure my availability to help you. Collection of your Gown is generally the week of your Wedding, for a final try on to ensuring the most perfect fit possible, and keeps it away from prying eyes!
